EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

The Empire State Building is located in 350, fifth Avenue New York, USA. The building was design by Gregory Johnson and his architectural firm Shereve, Lamb and Harmon. The Empire State Building has been named by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. The building and its street floor interior are designated landmarks of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, and confirmed by the New York City Board of Estimate. In 2007, it was ranked number one on the List of America's Favorite Architecture according to the AIA. The building is owned and managed by W&H Properties. The Empire State building was built between 1929 and 1931 and become the world’s tallest building from 1931 to 1972. The style of the bulding is modern and it is a very tall skycsraper with 102 floor. There are 1,575 steps from the lobby to the 86th floor.The building rises to 381m and it is full structural height including broadcast antenna reaches 443m. The building is very beautiful because it is made of 60, 000 tons of steel, 200,000 cubic feet of Indiana limestone and granite, 10 million bricks, and 730 tons of aluminium and stainless steel. The total cost to consctruct the skyscraper was $ 40, 948,000 including the cost of the land. President Herbert Hoover officially opened the building on May 1, 1931 by pressing a button from the White House that turned on the building's lights.
