Blog Assigment 2


The favorite food in Malaysia is Nasi Lemak. It is really a part of Malaysian culture. Nasi Lemak is kind of food that savory and spicy. The main ingredient to cook Nasi Lemak is rice, lemon grass, and screw pine (pandan) for making the rice. The cooking process cook the rice is soaked in rich coconut cream and then the mixture steamed. The knotted screw pine leaves are thrown into the rice while steaming to give it more fragrance. Spices such as ginger and occasionally herbs like lemon grass may be added for additional fragrance. Usually Nasi Lemak eat with cucumber slices, small dried anchovies (ikan bilis), roasted peanuts, hard boiled egg, and hot spicy sauce (sambal). Nasi Lemak usually eats in the morning for breakfast. It becomes routine food for all people in Malaysia.
