Biryani is originated from the Persian word "Birian". In Farsi, Birian means "Fried before Cooking". Biryani made with mutton, lamb, beef, chicken, fish, and prawns. All the ingredients are mixed and cooked together. It is a combination of rice, meat, yogurt and various spices. The spices used in biryani are cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, wasabi, bay leaves, coriander and mint leaves, ginger, onions and garlic. Biryani is usually served with a curry gravy, a plain salad and a dash of tomato ketchup. This delicious dish is often served for special occasions such as weddings, parties, or holidays such as Ramadan.
