Nasi Lemak



Nasi lemak is a delicious dish with hot spicy sauce. Actually nasi lemak is a breakfast dish and can be found widely in Malaysia. The main ingredients to make nasi lemak are rice, coconut cream, screwpine leaves, ginger and lemon grass. Rice is soaked in rich coconut cream and then steamed that mixture. Throw some screwpine leaves while rice is being steaming to give more fragrance. Finally, spices such as ginger and occasionally herbs such as lemon grass may be added. Nasi lemak usually served with hardboiled egg, roasted peanut, cucumber slices, small dried anchovies and hot spicy sauce. Nasi lemak also can be served with other accompaniments such as chicken, fish, beef or paru. Usually most of these accompaniments are spicy too. This dish often sold packed in newspaper or brown paper with banana leaves and it is sold early in the morning at roadside stall in Malaysia.
